Shaping the future of construction
Everything You Need to Know Before Installing 12×24 Tile.
Leave about 1/4″ at the bottom uncut so all your petals stay held together!.This is me trying to hold it in place so you could see what I did.
I really should have remembered to take pictures when I had Kennedy helping me.I need more hands!.You can also mix it up and do the same type of cuts on the non-folded side.. Use a bead of hot glue along the whole length of your strip to keep it folded in half .. Now comes the fun part where it all comes together!
Start rolling your flower up, using hot glue as you go to hold everything together.. Get the Kids Involved. When I made these with kids, I would have them cut their strips and cut their petals, and then I would have them come over to the “gluing station” so they could have me glue their flower for them.
I would just ask them if it looked good to them and if they liked how I was rolling the flower as I went and that way they felt like they were still very much involved in the process.
As kids get to be older and a little more confident with crafting, you can let them try out using the hot glue with one of the lower temperature glue guns that you can get. When Jack came on the scene two years ago just a few weeks before Christmas, we definitely had to make some changes and updates to some of our favorite “must do every year” activities.
For the most part, we’ve always taken our cues from all of the holiday clichés and have gone pretty classic with our holidays. We always head out to cut down our own tree, decorate the tree together as a family that night, then make time for gingerbread house decorating, Christmas crafts, and watching the Santa Clause parade in there somewhere too..
Some traditions, like bundling up to go skating (or just sliding around) on the creek, or taking pictures in Santa hats are just so much better for everyone now that we’ve got Jack around to make us all laugh. But some things, like decorating the perfect tree or doing most Christmas crafts, are pretty darn near impossible.
